Today, we received the news that a friend of Adam's from college had passed away peacefully after struggling with numerous health problems. She had dealt with Cystic Fibrosis her entire life and had two partial lung transplants. Most recently, she had been dealing with a fungus that had taken one eye and had traveled into her brain. But amid all of these health problems, she had the most positive attitude toward life. She was always so grateful for everyday and she inspired many with her smile and enthusiasm for life.
Last week, we were fortunate enough to see her one last time as she made the long trip from CA to UT to see her brother Boyce be married in the Salt Lake Temple. Adam was so grateful to be able to see her and reminisce about old times.
Just before she died, her husband Paul (pictured with Shannon above) said this in their blog: "She loves you all so much, and she has expressed to me that her greatest fear is not death itself. What she fears most is leaving behind the ones she loves."
We love you Shannon and will miss your sweet insight on life and eternity. We know that you are finally free from pain and illness. So, congratulations and may you enjoy happiness for eternity.
